Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born on August 9th, 1976 in Beaumont Puy of Domme. She was encouraged by her dentist, parents and a teacher who were both instructors in her pursuit of her passion to perform in theatre. This was in contrast the earlier dream to become a primateologist because she was fascinated by monkeys. When she was a teenager she became a star was rapid and marked with the beginning of her success. After completing her education, she was able to be a part of Jeunes Premiers which is the French TV talent-scouting show that is run by Canal+. She also was awarded the top Young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors. This led her to begin her professional acting career. Tautou went to The Institut Catholique de Paris, and she attended church as an infant. But she's since left the church. The actress claims she's not officially Catholic. She pursued a career in modeling in addition to her acting work and is the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel frequently referred to as the Chanel Muse. Her photography is also a hobby and she has recently displayed her work in the Arles festival in France under the name Superficial. The photographs she takes tends to focus on the spotlight and celebrity. Cameras are focused to journalists, who have sat and watched the actress in the wake of Amelie's unexpected popularity. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her first big role, starring as the lead in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie has been a box office hit internationally and was a cult hit at numerous international awards ceremonies. Amelie is the most successful film that is French-language in the US. The film's popularity led to Tautou's appearance in an array of films from British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles, and then he moved into Hollywood through Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code together with Tom Hanks.
